The winery is located in the municipality of Bernkastel-Wehlen (Mittelmosel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. In 1911, the winery property of Mathias Prüm (1835-1890) was divided among his seven children. The youngest daughter Anna Maria married Dr. Franz Weins. Their grandson is the current owner Bert Selbach. The vineyards cover four hectares of vines in the mostly extremely steep single vineyard sites Domprobst and Himmelreich (Graach), Prälat (Erden), Klosterberg and Sonnenuhr (Wehlen), and Würzgarten (Ürzig). They are exclusively planted with Riesling. The wines are traditionally matured in large wooden barrels. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
