Drăgăşani

Significant wine region in the southwest Romania in the Oltenia region. Viticulture was practiced here 3,000 years ago by the gates and deans who are considered ancestors of the Romanian people. The vineyards extend 60 kilometers in length in the foothills of the Transylvanian Alps at an altitude of up to 700 meters. It is a rainy area with hail often endangering crops.
