The winery is located in the municipality of Bechtheim (Wonnegau area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It is managed by Jochen Dreissigacker. The vineyards cover 45 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Geyersberg, Hasensprung and Rosengarten (Bechtheim), as well as Aulerde, Kirchspiel and Morstein (Westhofen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (65%), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, as well as with the red wine variety Pinot Noir. According to the philosophy of the house, the characteristics and special features of the soils, sites and plants are cultivated with great patience and care, which are to be transported into powerful, fine-mineral and elegant wines. This has long been done according to the rules of organic, and since 2020 biodynamic viticulture. This includes strictly avoiding mineral fertilisers and ecologically critical sprays, as well as using only organic fertilisers and cover crop.Weeds are removed mechanically, the entire area under and around the vine is worked exclusively by hand with a hoe or mechanically. Important quality criteria are yield reduction through appropriate pruning and thinning out with at least one third of the harvest. According to the taste of the berries and the physiological ripeness, the optimal harvest time is determined with the aim of fully ripe and healthy grapes. Fermentation takes place spontaneously using the vineyard's own natural yeasts, and the wines are stored for a long time on the fine lees.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
