Driling

An old measure (also drieling or dreiling) or barrel type for beer, wine and brandy. It was used in southern Germany and Austria-Hungary. The volumes are given differently in the sources, for example 1.318 hl for brandy and 2.05 hl for beer in Schaumburg-Lippe, and 16.80 hl for wine. See also under Hollow Measures.
