Dussert-Gerber Patrick

Patrick Dussert-Gerber (* 1956), born in Algeria, is considered the most productive wine author and wine critic France. After graduating, he started his career as a wine journalist. The occasion was an encounter with the renowned oenologist Jacques de Guilhem Loustaunau, where he subsequently learned the art of tasting. The magazine "Magnum" he founded was the first consumer magazine for wines and spirits. The “Guide des Vins”, first published in 1980, is updated every year by amateurs and professionals alike and is considered one of the best independent wine guide, 10,000 wines from 1,900 winegrowers are described there. There is also a website of the same name and a second one called Dussert-Gerber has written over 40 wine books, the most important of which are L'Encyclopédie Mondiale des Vins, Le Guide des Vins d'Europe, Le Guide d'achat des bons Vins (Guide to Good Wines), Le Guide des meilleurs produits et spécialités de Franc, L'Amour du Vin (love of wine), Le Guide des Vins de Bordeaux and Les Vins du Siècle (wines of the century).
