Common single layer designation in Germany. The origin of the name is not unique - there are at least three variants. Mandelberg can actually refer to the tree species or the shape of the situation (ring-shaped). According to a third variant, the name can also be derived from the Old High German "Mandar" for the tree species "pine". The latter would say that it is a pine-covered mountainside (e).
