The winery is located north-east of Bozen, at the entrance to the Eisack valley, in the Italian wine-growing area South-Tirol
(Region Trentino-Alto Adige
). It has been family-owned since 1982 and is managed by Urban Plattner. In 1996 the grapes were processed and marketed in-house and in 2005 an in-house cellar was put into operation. The vineyards at 400 to 500 meters above sea level cover three hectares of vineyards. They are planted with the red wine varieties Vernatsch (main variety), Pinot Noir, Malvasia ( Frühroter Veltliner

), Merlot and Lagrein, as well as Sauvignon (Sauvignon Blanc).

After the grapes have been transported in small boxes, they are gently processed without pumping. The company motto “less is more” applies to vinification. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are at least partly aged in wooden barrels. The premium wines include white wines from the Sauvignon and Malvasier varieties.
