Edelzwicker

Traditional white wine cuvée from the Alsace who belongs to the group of wines in the appellation Alsace counts. The name means "noble blend" and is derived from "tweaking" (cutting parts). The wine is also marketed under the French name "Gentil" (gracious, nice). It is blended from at least two of the approved varieties, mostly Auxerrois, Sylvaner and Chasselas. The previously classified as own AC version "Zwicker" has long been abandoned. Even in the first half of the 20th century, the Edelzwicker was a high-quality cuvée, today it is considered largely as a very simple wine and has no great significance.
