Eden Valley

Major viticulture (GI) area in the state of South Australia in Australia, There are the sub-areas High Eden and Springton. The climate is cooler and rainier than in the south Barossa Valley with which the Barossa zone is formed. The first winery called Pewsey Vale was founded by the Englishman Joseph Gilbert (1800-1881) in 1847. The vineyards cover around 10,000 hectares. The main grape varieties are Riesling and Shiraz.
