The white grape variety (also Geisenheim 6414-36) is a new breed between Ehrenfelser x Reichensteiner, The crossing took place in 1964 in the research institute Geisenheim (Rheingau) by Dr. med. Helmut Becker (1927-1990). The name derives from the fortress Ehrenbreitstein near Koblenz, or was formed after a second version from the beginning of the mother's kind, the middle part in homage to the fortress and the end of the father's town. Of the variety protection was granted in 1993. The variety is resistant to both mildews and the winter frost. It produces a green-yellow, fragrant and acidified white wine, which resembles the Riesling. In 2010, the vine took in Germany 10 hectares of vineyards, of which 8 in Rheinhessen,
