Eichberg (Alsace)

One of the classified Grand Cru positions in the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) within the appellation Alsace Grand Cru, It was already mentioned in the 11th century. The vineyards cover 58 hectares of vineyards on limestone-clay soil in the community Eguisheim. They are mainly with the varieties Riesling. Gewurztraminer and Pinot gris planted. Well-known producers are Charles Baur, Leon, Beyer, Paul Ginglinger, Albert Hertz, Kuentz-Bas, André Scherer, Paul Scherer, Gèrard Schueller and Wolfberger. See also below Eichberg in Germany.
