Eifel Franz Josef

The estate is located in the community Trittenheim (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, A guest house is connected. It is run by Franz-Josef Eifel in the fourth generation of the family. The vineyards cover nearly five hectares of vineyards in the top locations Altärchen and pharmacy (Trittenheim, as well Rosengärtchen (Neumagen). They are mainly planted with the Riesling (96%), as well as some Pinot Blanc (4%). The grape harvest is generally carried out by hand in up to three passes. After a whole bunch pressing a cool and long fermentation takes place with partly own yeast, which lasts with dry wines up to three months. The wines are partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in drums to 60% dry and semi-dry, as well as 40% fruit sweet or noble sweet as Auslese, Trockenbeerenauslese or Eiswein expanded. As a marketing gag on the bottle label, the owner vouches, so to speak, with his fingerprint for the quality of the bottle contents.
