The winery is located in the municipality of Trittenheim (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. A guesthouse is attached. It is run by Franz-Josef Eifel, the fourth generation of the family to do so. The vineyards cover five hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Altärchen and Apotheke (Trittenheim, and Rosengärtchen (Neumagen). They are mainly planted with Riesling (96%) and some Pinot Blanc. The grapes are always harvested by hand in up to three rounds. After a whole bunch pressing, a cool and long fermentation takes place, partly with the vineyard's own yeasts, which lasts up to three months for dry wines. The wines are vinified partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in barrels, 60% dry and semi-dry, and 40% fruit-sweet or noble-sweet as Auslese, Trockenbeerenauslese or ice wine. As a marketing gag, the owner's fingerprint on the label vouches for the quality of the bottle's contents.
