Eisack Valley winery

The cooperative winery is located in the municipality of Klausen (Chiusa) in the Eisack Valley in the Italian wine sector South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). It was founded in 1961 by 24 members at the time. The foundation stone was laid in the historical basement of the Reinthalerhof. Today the company is run by Armin Gratl, Hannes Munter is responsible as cellar master. In 1975 the company moved to its current location. The production building was then expanded and rebuilt in 2005. The vineyards cover 150 hectares of vines up to 1,000 meters above sea level, which are cultivated by 135 members from 11 communities supported by advice and training. It will be the white wine varieties Sylvaner. Müller-Thurgau. Green Valtellina. Gewurztraminer. Kerner, Ruländer ( Pinot gris ), Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Vernatsch ( Schiava Grossa ), Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) Lagrein and Zweigelt grown and processed. The winery specializes in white wines.

The hand-picked grapes and immediately delivered to the winery are subjected to a quality check and depending on their state of health and gradation rated. The must is brought in at a controlled temperature stainless steel tanks or wooden barrels fermented. Depending on the variety and quality level, there is a different length of storage and maturation time. The typical of the variety Vinified white wines of the "Aristos line" are made from strictly selected, yield-reduced grapes of the highest quality. The absolute top products are the two wines of the Sabiona line (Sylvaner and Kerner) from selected locations around the Säben Monastery and the dessert wine "Nectaris" made from selected, dried Kerner grapes. The majority of the wines are under the DOC names Eisacktaler and South Tyrol produced. Around one million bottles are marketed annually.
