The winery is located in the town of Iphofen (Steigerwald / Schwanberger Land area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. Ancestors were already cultivating vines and making wines in the 18th century. The traditional family business is run by the fifth generation of Irmgard and Werner Emmerich. The sixth generation, with Silvia, Milan, Heike and Martin, is waiting in the wings, so to speak. A new winery with guest rooms was opened on the southern edge of Iphofen in 2000. According to the company's motto, the variety of sites with their respective microclimates, the typicality of the grape varieties and the individual character of each vintage are to be reflected in the wines.

The vineyards cover around nine hectares of vineyards in the Hohenbühl (Seinsheim), Julius-Echter-Berg, Kalb and Kronsberg (Iphofen) vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner (some of the vines at Hohenbühl are over 100 years old ungrafted and are among the oldest in Franconia), Scheurebe, Riesling, Müller Thurgau, Bacchus and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Domina, Merlot and Portugieser. Environmentally friendly, sustainable viticulture combined with traditional winemaking is carried out under the motto "Preserve the tried and tested and use modern technology sensibly".

The premium wines include Silvaner from ancient (100-year-old) vines, various Rieslings and dry Scheureben. In suitable years, Beerenauslese wines are also produced. Winery sparkling wines, pearl wines, grape juice and noble brandies (wine yeast, pomace, fruit, plum) are also produced. As a special feature, vines can be leased (vine sponsorship). The winery is a member of the Fränkisches Gewächs association.
