The Kurt Erbeldinger & Sohn winery is located in the municipality of Bechtheim-West (Wonnegau area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The foundation stone was laid by Kurt and Gertrud Erbeldinger, who bottled their first wines in 1960 and converted their former mixed farm of agriculture, fruit growing and viticulture to the bottled marketing of wine. Since 2001, the estate has been run by his son Stefan and his son Christoph, who is responsible for the vineyards. The vineyards cover 30 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Geyersberg, Hasensprung, Heiligkreuz and Pilgerpfad (Bechtheim), Aulerde (Westhofen), and Mandelbrunnen (Gundheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (20%), Pinot Blanc (15%), Müller-Thurgau, Grüner Silvaner, Chardonnay, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir (15%) Portugieser, Dornfelder and St. Laurent.

The vineyards are cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture. Special emphasis is placed on reduced yields. The wines are produced according to variety and origin with maceration time for red and white wines, controlled fermentation with partial spontaneous fermentation and ageing in stainless steel and/or in large wooden barrels. The dry wines are marketed according to the estate wine-local wine-location wine model. Premium wines are the Pinot Blancs and Rieslings, including the "Privat" line, the Pinot Blanc "Glanzstück", matured for 18 months in large wooden barrels, and the white wine cuvée "Weingeschwister" (Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc). Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced in 12 varieties. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations Weinbruderschaft St. Katharinen, Generation Riesling, Pro Riesling and Vinissima.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
