The winery is located in the municipality of Ilbesheim (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. Holiday flats are also rented out. The winery is run by Willi Erlenwein and his son Timo (a trained viticultural technician with an apprenticeship at the Dr. Wehrheim winery and an internship in Burgundy). In 2015, a new press house with wine cellar and separate bottling room was put into operation. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Sonnenberg (Leinsweiler). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Kerner and Gelber Muskateller, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder St. Laurent, Schwarzriesling, Portugieser and Dornfelder. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced, as well as noble brandies from fruit (from one hectare of orchards), yeast, marc and wine.
