The winery is located in the municipality of Flonheim-Uffhofen ( Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. A country hotel and wine restaurant are attached. The farm is owned by Dipl. Ing. agr. Wilfried and Nico Espenschied. Nico Espenschied is responsible for the cellar technology. The vineyards cover 28 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites La Roche (Uffhofen), as well as Binger Berg (in the Kisselberg and Ringelberg plots ), Pfaffenberg, Geisterberg and Rotenpfad (Flonheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Bl anc and Silvaner, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Blauer Portugieser. The long-term average yield is around 70 hl/ha.

Natural viticulture is consistently practised with the long-term goal of ecological cultivation. The selected grapes are processed with the greatest possible care in the newly built wine press station. Around 40% of the wines are traditionally fermented and/or matured in wooden barrels with a volume of 115 to 6,000 litres. The vinification is carried out as far as possible without oenological interventions, with little use of sulphur and without fining agents, stabilisation and, in some cases, filtration. The red wines ferment on the skins and are aged in large wooden bar rels or in barriques, depending on the type of wine. The white wines are aged for a long time on the lees. Around 220,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the associations Rheinhessen Wein, Generation Riesling and Slow Food.
