Evita

The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between(Clinton x Muscat d'Hamburg) x Prokupac. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera. It must not be confused with the white new breed Evita Blanche. The hybrid was crossed by the breeder Lazar Avramov in Serbia. In 2008 the plant variety protection was granted. The vine is resistant to fungal diseases and belongs to the PIWI varieties. In Austria (Burgenland) it is one of the varieties for the local speciality Uhudler. In 2016, however, no stocks were registered (Kym Anderson).
