Evmolpia

The red grape variety is a new breed between Mavrud x Merlot, Synonyms are Evmolpiya and Thracian Mavrud. The crossing took place in Bulgaria by the breeder Dimitiar Babrikov. The variety protection was granted in 1991. The early to medium ripening vine is relatively resistant to Botrytis, It produces full-bodied, neutral red wines with moderate tannins and alcohol.
