The "Meisterbetrieb Fabianek" is located in the municipality of Roseldorf near the wine town of Retz in the north-west of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. Since 2004 it has been run by the fourth generation of the family, master winemaker and cellarer Ing. Daniela Riegler (née Fabianek). The vineyards cover six hectares and are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling and Chardonnay, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are cultivated in a near-natural way. The premium wines include the white wines Weinviertel DAC Ried Bergweingarten (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner Classic and the cuvée "Schmetterling" (Rhine Riesling, Welsch Riesling), as well as the red wines Zweigelt and the cuvée "Michell" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zweigelt). Grape juices, semi-sparkling wine, red wine liqueur and noble brandies(pomace, grape, wine, fruit) are also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Weingüter Retzer Land.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
