Fader Kastanienhof

The estate is located in the community Rhodt under Rietburg (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, The traditional Kastanienhof has been family-owned since 1780. The company is run today by Karl-Heinz and son Knut Fader, supported by their wives Hedwig and Heike. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Münzberg (Godramstein), as well as Klosterpfad, Rosengarten and Schlossberg (Rhodt). From another three hectares, grapes are purchased from contract growers. The white varieties Riesling (mainly in Schlossberg), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Muskateller and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blauer Portugieser, Dornfelder, St. Laurent and Merlot are cultivated and processed.

There is a natural, environmentally friendly management. These include organic fertilization, blooming greening and intense foliage care with the aim of intact soil.
