DOC area for white wines in the Italian region of Campania. It was created in 2011 in connection with the reorganisation of the DOC area Sannio. The zone covers 1,240 hectares of vineyards in about 30 municipalities in the four subzones Guardia Sanframondi (Guardiolo), Sant'Agata dei Goti, Solopaca, Solopaca Classico and Taburno in the province of Benevento. Their names are listed on the bottle label after the DOC designation Falanghina del Sannio. The wines must contain at least 85% Falanghina, a maximum of 15% can be other authorised varieties. These are Falanghina del Sannio, Falanghina del Sannio Spumante, Falanghina del Sannio Spumante di Qualità, Falanghina del Sannio Spumante di Qualità Metodo Classico, Falanghina del Sannio Vendemmia Tardiva and Falanghina del Sannio Passito. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna may be indicated followed by the vineyard name.
