DOC area (also Falerio) for white wine in the Italian region of Marche. The zone covers the two provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, with the exception of the valley bottoms and sites above 700 metres above sea level. Falerio is blended from Trebbiano Toscano (20-50%), Passerina (10-30%), as well as other permitted varieties (max. 20%). The pure Falerio Pecorino must contain at least 85% Pecorino, up to 15% other authorised varieties can be used.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
