The appellation is located in the center of the French wine-growing region Languedoc, The red wine was classified as AOC in 1982 and the white wine in 2005. Red wine and rosé are made from Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) Cinsault, Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Lladon Pelut ( Garnacha Peluda ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) and Syrah blended. The white wine is made from Grenache Blanc ( Garnacha Blanca ) Marsanne. Roussanne and role ( Vermentino ), such as Bourboulenc. Carignan Blanc. Clairette Blanche and Macabeo generated. The Eau-de-vie Fine Faugères is also classified as AOC. Well-known producers are Domaine Alquier, Domaine Leon Barral. Domaine de Cébène, Château de Estanilles, Château de Grézan, CV de Laurens, Château la Liquière, Maurel Vedeau, Domaine du Météore and Domaine Ollier-Taillefer.
