The winery "Bodegas Faustino (Martínez)" is located in the municipality of Oyón near Logroño in the Spanish Rioja sub-area Rioja Alavesa-, It was founded in 1860 by Eleuterio Martínez Arzok, who sold his wines in cask. His son Faustino Martínez Pérez de Albéniz took over the business in 1930 and started bottling himself under his own name. In 1960 founder grandson Julio Faustino Martínez founded the international reputation of the house with the famous “Faustino” line. Today the fourth generation of the family is run by José Luis Fernandez de Jubera. The company's own vineyards cover 650 hectares of vines in the four municipalities of Oyón, Laguardia, Logroño and Mendavia. Grapes are also purchased to the greatest extent. 25,000 oak barrels are available for expansion, three quarters of which are made from American oak and one quarter from French oak.
