The red grape variety comes from Germany. Synonyms are Seeclävner and Peridac. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Savagnin Blanc(Traminer) x unknown variety. It is a parent of the Blue Heunisch variety. In 2016 no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
