The white grape variety is a new cross between Riesling x Muscat St. Laurent. The cross was made by the French breeder Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar (Alsace, France). Incidentally, the same parents also produced the varieties Bouquetriesling, Diamantmuskat, Edelmuskat, Feinriesling, Firnriesling, Marienriesling, Muscat de la Republique, Muscat Dore de Semis, Muskatblume, Muskatbouquet, Muskatduft and Muskatriesling. No stocks were recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
