The municipality appellation is located in the Côte de Nuits on the Cote d'Or
and includes areas in the municipalities of Fixin and Brochon. Fixin was once the summer residence of the Dukes of Burgundy
, The single layers Arvelets, Chapitre, Hervelets, Napoléon (formerly Cheusots), Meix-Bas, Perrière (this monopoly owned by Philippe Joliet is considered the best) and Queue de Hareng are classified as Premier Cru. Almost exclusively red wines from Pinot Noir with parts of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault are produced.
