Floriánka

The white grape variety (also VCR x MT) is a new variety between Frühroter Veltliner x Müller-Thurgau. The breeder first called it Morava (Moravia), but this had to be changed due to this protected designation of origin. There is also a Serbian new variety called Morava. The new name was given after Saint Florian. The cross was made in the Czech Republic by the breeder Václav Křivánek (1927-2009). Plant variety protection was granted in 2010. The early-maturing vine is resistant to frost and moderately resistant to botrytis and both types of powdery mildew. It produces aromatic, fresh white wines with aromas of apples, bananas and honey. The variety is cultivated in small quantities in the Czech Republic (Moravia). However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
