The US multi, headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, is listed in the S & P 500 stock index (500 of the largest publicly traded US companies). The company was founded in 1969 as "American Brands" and renamed in 1997 in the present name. The holding company Fortune Brands is divided into the three areas Acushnet (golf balls, golf clothing, shoes), Home & Hardware (with the brands Masterbrand Cabinets, Moen, Therma-Tru, Master Lock)) and Wines & Spirits.
