The US multi, headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois, is listed in the S&P 500 stock index (500 of the largest exchange-oriented US companies). The group was founded in 1969 as "American Brands" and renamed in 1997 to its current name. The Fortune Brands holding company is divided into three areas: Acushnet (golf balls, golf sports clothing, shoes), home & hardware (with the brands Masterbrand Cabinets, Moen, Therma-Tru, Master Lock)) and wines & spirits. When smashing the multinationals Allied Domecq in 2005, 20 liquor and wine brands were acquired. The Beam Wine Estates division with the wineries Buena Vista and Clos du Bois was launched in 2007 Constellation Brands sold. The only two wine brands are now Cockburn ( port wine ) and Harvey's ( sherry ). The spirits and liqueur portfolio includes the brands Jim Beam (Bourbon), Canadian Club ( whiskey ) Courvoisier ( cognac ) Domecq (but only the Fundador brand), El Tesoro ( tequila ), KNOB Creek (Bourbon), Laphroaig (Whiskey), Larios (Gin), Sauza (Tequila) and Teacher's (Scotch).
