Name for a low-alcohol red wine from northern Italy. He is from the American varieties Clinton or Isabella of the species Vitis labrusca vinified. The name derives from "Fragola" (German strawberry) and refers to the typical strawberry flavor (see Foxton ). It is a simple one wine consumption or a wine-like drink. Under EU law, such wines should not be considered as quality wine referred to and also produced in part only for self-consumption. Similar wines in other countries bear the names Americano or strawberry (Switzerland) and Uhudler (Austria).
