Franc Noir de la Haute-Saône

The red grape variety comes from France, Synonyms are Franc Noir de Cendrecourt, Franc Noir de Gy, Franc Noir de Jussey, Franc Noir de Venere, Gougenot, Gougenot Saone and Plant Jacquot. Around the year 1845 she was strongly propagated by the teacher Gougenot in the department of Haute-Saône, from which also derives a part of the name and a synonym. According to the year 1999 DNA analysis it is one of the many probably natural crosses between Gouais blanc x Pinot, The early ripening vine yields dark reds. It is in low stocks in the department Aube in the south of the Champagne grown. In 2010, however, no stock was reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
