The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Herrnbaumgarten in the north-east of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The family has been growing grapes here for over 300 years. The farm is owned by Johanna and DI Harald Frank (responsible cellar master). The vineyards cover 20 hectares in the Altenbergen, Granitz, Johannesbergen, Hoher Weg and Kreinhölzer vineyards. The main variety is Grüner Veltliner on loess soils. Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Zweigelt are also cultivated on shell limestone and lime marl. Special attention is paid to healthy soils with the promotion of soil life through green man uring. With the aim of producing wines with a strong emphasis on origin, the focus is on the work in the vineyard (approx. 350h/ha) rather than on the influence in the cellar (approx. 40h/ha). Besides the classic wines, the speciality of the house are the storable reserve wines. These include, among others, Weinviertel DAC Reserve (Grüner Veltliner).
