The winery is located in the municipality of Binzen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The family business is run by Bernhard and Heike Frick. The vineyards cover four hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Sonnhohle (Binzen and Rümmingen) and Weingarten (Fischingen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Chasselas, Nobling and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is practised, with no herbicides or insecticides and participation in biotechnical pest control measures. The rows of vines are sown with legumes and flowering plants all year round cover crop. With the exception of the noble sweet wines, all the wines are fermented in the historic vaulted cellar dating back to the 16th century and are matured dry. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced, as well as noble brandies in the in-house distillery.
