Viticulture, before he took over in 1993, together with his wife Anke in the eighth generation of families, the family business. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards in the mostly steep terraced locations Domgarten, Hamm, Röttgen
, Se are planted to 70% with Riesling, and Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Dornfelder. The white wines are fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve the primary fruit flavors. Barrels are used for the expansion of red wines and Pinot Blanc. The model of the VDP
for the classification of locations is consistently implemented. Layer designations are used only in the Cabinet wines and for the top Riesling from the two individual layers Röttgen and Uhlen. Selections in dry and semi-dry growing are marketed under the name "Apollo Terraces" (named after the very rare Apollo butterflies living in the terraced vineyards). A specialty of the house are the noble sweet Rieslings. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, frizzante, pomace brandy and grape jelly are also produced.
