Frühlingsplätzchen

single vineyard in the municipality of Monzingen in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. It was considerably expanded during land consolidation in 1971, with the best parcels being those in the old core area. The south to south-west facing vineyards at 160 to 240 metres above sea level with a slope of 0 to 70% cover 64 hectares of vines. The red slate weathered soils are interspersed with pebbles, quartzite, basaltic rubble and red clay and are gravelly to sandy on the steep slopes. The small Auf der Ley vineyard, defined as a cadastral site, is also located here, a small part of which stretches across the neighbouring single vineyard Halenberg site. The main varieties cultivated here are Riesling, Dornfelder and Müller-Thurgau. The Bamberger Heiko, Emrich-Schönleber, Schäfer-Fröhlich and Schauß Erich wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
