The estate (Vulgoname "Koasasteffl") is located in the commune of Deutsch-Haseldorf, Großgemeinde Kloch
in the Austrian wine region Vulkanland Steiermark
, It has been in use by Fritz Frühwirth sen since 1970. guided. His son Fritz jun. graduated from the Federal Higher Education and Research Institute and practiced specifically because of the Traminer expansion in Alsace, France. . When planting new plants, a high stock density with 4,000 to 5,000 vines per hectare is used. The resulting vine stress drives the roots deeper into the ground and the result is lower yield with small, thick-skinned berries.
The white wines are mostly classic Styrian, Morillon and Gewürztraminer and the red wines in barriques. The designation "Koasasteffl" carry wines with a strong and full structure, the grapes of which are subjected to a rigorous selection process, some of which also ferment and mature in barriques. The premium wines include the red wine blend "Roter Koasasteffl" (Zweigelt, Shiraz, Blaufränkisch ), the white wine blend "Cross-section" (Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc), as well as the white wines Traminer Hochwarth, Sauvignon Blanc Sunleitn and Chardonnay Rosenberg and the specialty Klöcher Traminer. The winery is a member of the Klöcher Traminer association.
