Gárdonyi Géza

The red grape variety is a new breed between the red Médoc Noir ( Menoir ) x the white Csaba Gyöngye (Pearl of Csaba). The crossing took place in 1960 in the city Eger by the Hungarian breeder József Csizmazia, It was named after the Hungarian playwright Géza Gárdonyi (1863-1922), who died in Eger, where he is also memorialized. The variety was a cross partner of the new varieties Nero. titanium and Turán, No inventory was shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
