Geisberg

One of the classified Grand Cru positions in the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) within the appellation Alsace Grand Cru, The terraced Vineyards cover nearly nine hectares of vines on stony limestone clay soil in the municipality of Ribeauvillé. Probably the name derives from the stony ground, as "geis" in old German language means "stony slope". The one from here Riesling was documentary evidence already famous in 1308.
