The GWS company is located in the city of Telavi in the Kakheti region of Georgia. The formerly state-owned company was privatised in 1994 and transformed into a public limited company. The French group Pernod Ricard acquired 51% and determines the direction of the company. The remaining 49% is owned by Georgian businessman Levan Gachechiladze. The trademark is a jumping horse with a winged rider. The wide product range includes wines from the PDO areas of Akhasheni, Khvanchkara, Kindzmarauli, Mukuzani, Napareuli, Tsinandali and Tvishi, for example. Sparkling wines and various spirits(brandy, pomace brandy= chacha) are also produced.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
