Georgia Wine & Spirits

The GWS company is located in the city of Telavi in the Kakheti region of Georgia. The formerly state-owned company was privatised in 1994 and transformed into a public limited company. The French group Pernod Ricard acquired 51% and determines the direction of the company. The remaining 49% is owned by Georgian businessman Levan Gachechiladze. The trademark is a jumping horse with a winged rider. The wide product range includes wines from the PDO areas of Akhasheni, Khvanchkara, Kindzmarauli, Mukuzani, Napareuli, Tsinandali and Tvishi, for example. Sparkling wines and various spirits (brandy, pomace brandy= chacha) are also produced.
