The winery is located in the municipality of Wielitsch near Ehrenhausen in the wine-growing region of South Styria (Austria). The origins date back to 1777. In 1968, the neighbouring Georgi-Schlössl was acquired, from which the current name is derived. In the 1970s, red grapes from the Ferruccio Lamborghini nursery (Cabernet Sauvignon) and from France (Merlot, Pinot Noir) were imported. Finally, in 2008, the estate was taken over by the passionate wine connoisseur and successful entrepreneur Christian Trierenberg. In 2013, the estate underwent a major renovation and redesign in keeping with the tradition of the old winery. This resulted in the Georgiberg restaurant, a wine boutique and the oenologium, an information and sensory room with interesting facts about the history of winegrowing. Today, the Georgiberg winery offers a diverse programme such as cellar tours with wine tasting, picnics, candlelight dinners and Pinzgauer tours. The estate is also a dream location for events such as weddings and company celebrations. Alois Gollenz is the cellar master, Stefan Krispel is responsible for sales and Raimund Pammer for the restaurant.

The vineyards cover 26 hectares in the Ciringa, Hochgrassnitzberg, Kresnica, Obegg and Wielitsch vineyards. 80% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Gelber Muskateller, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Gelber Traminer, Morillon or Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Blauer Muskateller. Quality criteria in the vineyard are yield reduction and selective manual harvesting in several passes for the top vineyards.

The wine cellar, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and electronic control, extends over two floors and consists of a pressing cellar and a fermentation cellar. Natural gravity is used for the delivery, transport and processing of the grapes, or must and wine. The barrique cellar and the stainless steel tank cellar are located on the lower floor. The product range corresponds to the quality pyramid Südsteiermark DAC with regional wines, local wines (Ehrenhausen) and vineyard wines (Hochgrassnitzberg, Obegg, Wielitsch). After partly spontaneous, slow fermentation, the wines are stored for a long time on the fine lees. Depending on the type of wine, they are matured in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barrique barrels. The premium wines of the house are Morillon Obegg (Chardonnay) and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) matured in large wooden barrels, as well as B.M. Rosé sparkling wine (Blauer Muskateller). Grape juice, bottle-fermented sparkling wine and noble brandies (pear, plum, red wine marc, cigar) are also produced. The winery is a member of Wein Steiermark.
