Winegrowing municipality in the Eisenberg wine-growing region of Burgenland (Austria). The large municipality Deutsch Schützen-Eisenberg comprises the cadastral municipalities Deutsch-Schützen, Edlitz in Burgenland, Eisenberg an der Pinka, Höll and Sankt Kathrein in Burgenland In 1221 Deutsch-Schützen was mentioned under the name "Perwolff", after which a branded wine from the village (Weingut Krutzler) was named. The vineyards cover about 100 hectares of vineyards on the Deutsch-Schützener Berg, the Radlingberg and on the southern slopes of the 415 m high Eisenberg. The latter is dominated by slate with a high iron content mixed with sand, which gives the red wines strong mineral tones and a strong colour. Well-known vineyards are Bründlgfangen, Fasching, Ratschen and Weinberg. Two thirds of the red wine varieties BlaufränkischZweigelt, Blauburger and Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated. The most common white wine varieties are Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling andPinot Blanc. Well-known producers of the community are Kopfensteiner, Körper Erich, Krutzler Reinhold, Schützenhof, Unger Gerald, Wachter-Wiesler, Wallner Gerhard and Weber Alfred.
