The "Bio-Weingut Geyerhof" is located in the village of Furth near Göttweig in the wine-growing region Kremstal (Lower Austria). The farm was first mentioned in the 12th century, the history of the Geyer family goes back to the 16th century. By passing the farm on a female line, the surname has often changed. Ilse Maier had already acquired practical knowledge during the school holidays in German and French wineries. She studied at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Wien and graduated with her diploma thesis on the Argentine viticulture. Returning from her trip abroad, she joined the family business. Her sister Christine moved to the winery with her marriage Nikolaihof, After his marriage in 1988 with Josef Maier, it was decided to convert organic-organic viticulture for the then five-hectare farm and consistently implemented.

The vineyards today comprise 19 hectares of vineyards in the Kremstaler Rieden Gaisberg, Goldberg, High Rain, Johannisberg, Kirchensteig, Sprinzenberg and Steinleithn. They are planted to 80% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and to 20% with the red variety Zweigelt. The premium wines include Riesling and Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC with different vineyard names. Every year around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced.
