The "organic winery Geyerhof" is located in the municipality of Furth near Göttweig in the wine-growing region Kremstal (Lower Austria). The farm was mentioned as early as the 12th century, the history of the Geyer family dates back to the 16th century. The family name has often changed due to the passing on of the farm in a female line. Ilse Maier had already acquired practical knowledge of German and French wineries during the school holidays. She studied at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Wien and completed her studies with her diploma thesis on Argentine viticulture. Returning from her trip abroad, she went into the family business. Her sister Christine moved to the winery with her marriage Nikolaihof, After marrying Josef Maier in 1988, the decision was taken to convert organic winegrowing to the then five hectare company and to implement it consistently.

The vineyards now cover 19 hectares of vineyards in the Kremstaler Rieden Gaisberg, Goldberg, Hoher Rain, Johannisberg, Kirchensteig, Sprinzenberg and Steinleithn. They are planted to 80% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, and 20% with the red variety Zweigelt. The premium wines include Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC with different vineyard names. Around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations 11 women & their wines, European Organic Wineries Club and Traditional wineries Austria,
