The wine house "Robert Gilliard SA" with headquarters in the city of Sion in the Swiss canton Wallis
was founded by Edmond Gilliard in 1885. Today it is managed by Claude-Nicolas Becker. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vineyards, most of which are located on the right bank of the Rhone in the Sion appellation. The steep terraces of the Domaine de la Cotzette, which are supported by stone walls up to 20 meters high, are impressive. Chasselas (41%), Pinot Noir (30%), Gamay (18%), Johannisberg (Silvaner), Syrah, Muscat and Malvoisie (Pinot Gris), as well as the indigenous Petite Arvine, Amigne, Ermitage (Marsanne), Cornalin d'Aoste (Cornalin), Cornalin du Valais (Rouge du Pays) and Diolinoir. The premium wines include the cuvée "Antarès" (one third each of Diolinoir, Syrah and Pinot Noir), "Brûle-Fer" (Johannisberg), " Dole
des Monts ”(Pinot Noir, Gamay) and“ Domaine de la Cotzette ”(from old Chasselas vines).
