The wine house "Robert Gilliard SA" with headquarters in the city of Sion in the Swiss canton Wallis
was founded in 1885 by Edmond Gilliard. Today it is headed by Claude-Nicolas Becker. The vineyards cover 40 hectares, most of them on the right bank of the Rhône in the appellation Sion. Impressive are the steep terraces of the Domaine de la Cotzette, which are supported by up to 20 meters high stone walls. There are Chasselas (41%), Pinot Noir (30%), Gamay (18%), Johannisberg (Silvaner), Syrah, Muscat and Malvoisie (Pinot Gris), as well as the autochthonous Petite Arvine, Amigne, Ermitage (Marsanne), Cornalin d'Aoste (Cornalin), Cornalin du Valais (Rouge du Pays) and Diolinoir cultivated. Among the premium wines are the cuvée "Antarès" (one third each diolinoir, Syrah and Pinot Noir), "Brûle-Fer" (Johannisberg), " Dole
des Monts "(Pinot Noir, Gamay) and" Domaine de la Cotzette "(from old Chasselas vines).
