The red grape variety is a new cross between Muscat d'Hamburg x Pirovano 62. Synonyms or breeding numbers are Dalmasso 18-21 and I. D. XVIII/21. The cross was made in Conegliano (Veneto) by the Italian breeder Giovanni Dalmasso (1886-1974). Incidentally, the same parents also gave rise to the varieties Liana, Teresita and Viola. The vine is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
