Glera Bela

The white grape variety comes from Slovenia. Synonyms are Bela Glera and Pienel. It must not be confused with the Glera (formerly Prosecco) or Glera Lunga varieties, from which it differs according to DNA analyses carried out in 2008. The ampelographer Pierre Galet (1921-2019) had wrongly assumed that they were Chasselas. In 2016 no stock was reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
