Gmärk

Riede (also Gemärk, Gmerk or Gemerk) in the Burgenland municipality Rust (Austria). The vernacular term is derived from the term Gemarkung (Gemärk = Grenz), because the reed lies on the border to the municipality of Oggau. It is oriented to the southeast. In the upper part, soils dominate on gneiss with calcareous clay and sand. In the lower area there are deep clay and humus soils. Above all, the white wines are grown in the vineyard Chardonnay. Traminer, Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) and Riesling, as well as the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch and Merlot cultured. The wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard Giefing Erich.
