Goethe (grape variety)

The white grape variety is an interspecific new breed between Carter x Black Hamburg ( Schiava Grossa ). Synonyms are Goethe Classica, Gota de Ouro and Rogers 1. They are genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera contain. The crossing of the hybrid took place in 1858 in the United States in Salem / Massachusetts by the breeder ES Rogers, The vine has reddish-colored berries. It is used as a wine press table grape used. No stocks were shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
