The white grape variety originates from Portugal. It should not be confused with the Godello (Gouveio), Gouveio Estimado or Gouveio Real varieties, despite seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities. It is grown in tiny quantities in the Portuguese area of Trás-os-Montes; in 2016, an area of only half a hectare was reported here (Kym Anderson statistics).
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
