The red grape variety (also Geneva Red 7, NY 34-791) is an interspecific new breed between Buffalo x Baco noir, They are genes from Vitis labrusca. Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera contain. The crossing of the hybrid took place in 1947 at the Vine Breeding Institute of the Cornell University in Geneva, New York. The early maturing hardy Vine produces red wines, which are mostly used in blends. It is mainly in the field Finger Lakes in the state new York (27 ha) as well as in Iowa (4 hectares) grown. In 2010, a total of 32 hectares of vineyards were reported in the USA (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
